Log fire and chalet comfort, and there is a pair of speakers with mp3 socket, as well as the tv with British channels, and the dvd player.
This is a large, and very well designed space on the first floor - it doesn't just work well, but it also has a very good feel to it - which is essential in the main living area.
'Bonjour Chamois!' which is what our children say when they come down for breakfast.
Loads of seating space around the new sofas, which make a semi-enclosed area around the fire.
Logs in the garage, and supplied in the price. Makes it very cosy, though the underfloor heating needs no help it must be said.
10 comfortable dinner spaces on this table, along with 12 stools - if you want to squeeze a few kids in.
Classic ski chalet kitchen, opening onto the dining area and sitting room. The tiled floor is heated, making it a pleasure just to stand there.
Plenty of photos and pictures everywhere, as Nikita is our home for parts of the year. And yes, the sofa has a bed to it if really necessary.
The 3 Balconies above a garage, where there is a generous area for keeping skis and ski boots, and for changing. You can park in front of the garage as well.
Top bedroom with double bed and Velux to look up at the stars whilst in bed, with attendant balcony and views to match.
Shower and wc on top floor - one of 3 showers, and one of 4 wc's in the chalet.
All our bedrooms are a good size, especially for a ski chalet, except this one, which is small, but the kids like it.
The frequent, free and regular shuttle bus stops here, and in 4 mins you are at your first ski lift, with a further 4 mins to the main lifts station itself.

We know 3 valleys like the back of our hand. But clearly, we do not know our hands that well, as we keep finding new runs and new lifts year in, year out.
It usually starts snowing in Nov/Dec. Note the communal bread oven just behind us.
Where the little old lady nearby washes her clothes - she always has, and she was born here 84 years ago. Its a nice little spot right by Nikita, and its where you wait for the shuttle bus.
Even in a bad year, like 2006/7, it is easy to find good snow given the immense scale and high altitude of this resort.
The best thing about Meribel? It's in between the other 2 valleys, so no terrible hurry to get back before the lifts close.

In a word, Christmas.
