This is a shot from the church looking down into the valley, it is possible that where this house now stands, was a part of the original village site, most probably to the left of the house.
Taken from the church site, looking more towards the south, there has been a lot of land slip here, so any archaeological deposits may well be buried quite deep.
This taken from church site the house in the first photo is just to the right hand side, this is looking directly at the possible site of the village
Looking towards the north back towards the church, possible area of early burial ground.
Taken from the bottom of the slope from the church, at the site of the village, it clearly shows a pathway going up towards the church.
Taken from the bottom of the slop at the site of the village, it shows the amount of land slip, you can see areas where there is only sub soil showing, mainly caused here by rabbit workings .
Taken from the possible village site, looking towards the house built there, there are several possible building platforms here.
Members of the project taking notes , on one of the research days.
This does not really show up well, but towards the right of the photo there are one or two building platforms.
Within the reserach area of the village possible location, there is evidence of a water supply, although this brickwork is clearly 19th/20th century, but is does appear that the water course is of an early date.
A dried up stream bed leading towards the village site.
Another shot of stream bed.
Shows the area of village location, with the church towards the right hand top corner of the photo.
This is the area towards the south east of the village site, this lake is man made , originally there was just a stream running here, it was dammed in the 19th century to form this lake and to power a water wheel.
This a site where they may have been a wheel, there is a dam here holding water in an upper pond.
There is a lot of use of Horsham stone around the area of the lake and upper pond area.
The Lake.
Southern end of lake, wall , capped with Horsham Stone.
Views of other areas around the site of the village location, all have lots of humps and bumps in them, but alot could be down to landscaping.
