My fully-equipped workshop
A PEEK and PTFE 8mm rod. Bench needs a sweep.
Cut off a few cm of rod
Mount rod in drill and smooth the end with rasp or file
smoothed, tapered end to help a die cut a thread.
The m8 die can now cut a thread in the PEEK. You can see damage to the surface from slipping in the drill chuck - make sure it's tight.
Put the wrong end of the drill in
Tighten up the vice to hold the drill. I've had to use a pair of pliers to get a better grip on the drill bit (because I have cheap crap tools)
It shold now line up perfectly with the work
A centered hole
Once the centre is drilled, you can re-drill larger diameters by holding in a vice
Tapping is easier when the work is held properly
Use masking tape to set the depth you want to drill
oops. The drill (3.5) was too big for the welding tip.
